Good reference photo

the reference

We all know that each and every animal has their own, unique personality and features.

To create a truly stunning piece, I rely on the photographs you provide, so the more detail in the image, the better the final result. A clear and high-quality photo can significantly enhance your pet's portrait, ensuring it reflects their individual charm and character perfectly.

Let's bring furry friend to life on paper!

How to take a good photo of your pet

A good reference photo for a custom pet portrait should be well-lit, in focus, and capture the pet's unique features, such as eyes, ears, fur as well as little tuft of hair that sticks out.

You can take a few photos as I might be able to see different or more details on each photo.

Few tips to help you to take a good photo

1. Try to get down to eye level

Most photos are taken with you standing and looking down at you pet, that's not always create a good composition. Try to avoid strange angles that make the pet look awkward. It's beneficial to have the pet at eye level and not too close or far away from camera. the pet should fill the frame so that details are visible.

2. Keep in natural

Try to take a photo during play or walk at the park, when your pet is not aware of the camera that way you more likely to have a natural pose which will capture their unique personality and character. Unless of course your beloved pet love posing for a photos then just go for it!

3. Good lighting

Good light not only will it make final result more pleasing on the eye, it will highlight a lot of detail in your pet's face. Natural daylight is ideal as it provides even and flattering lighting. Ensure there are no harsh shadows that obscure details.

4.Focus and Resolution

A high-resolution photo ensures lots of detail is captured, especially the fine details of the fur. the photo should be in focus, without any blur. Fuzzy or blurry images make it difficult for us artists to work with.

Of course, in certain situations, these tips aren't achievable, in which case send on your reference and I can advise you and work with your photo using my skills. Who knows you could have the perfect shot looking down on your pet, you are the one who knows him or her best.
